Ky-mani is a native of Falmouth, Jamaica, to Robert Nesta Marley, a legend, and Jamaican champion at table tennis, Anita Belnavis. East African words for Ky-mani are a reference to an adventurous traveler. For an East African man, his albums and travels are an adventure. The Journey, his musical journey, began in the year 1999. He was an eclectic musician who was seeking his niche in music. in 2001 Many More Roads (Grammy-nominated), a "traditional" reggae record was made available, showing a more mature Ky-mani. Many More Roads and The Journey received a great reception across the globe. This solidified Ky-mani's status as an independent musician. Ky-Mani has earned a reputation for his unique blend between hip-hop and R&B with a touch of contemporary jazz.
